Welcome from the Head of School

Experience the Extraordinary

As in our mission statement, RLC was formed more than a half century ago to create extraordinary learning opportunities rooted in meaningful experiences in our unique natural environment; to support one another to be the best of ourselves. A parent recently commented that Rosseau Lake College “has transformed my son. He is becoming the person he was meant to be." Indeed, that’s exactly what this school is here to do.

We are intentionally small, meaning we know each and every student. Students at RLC have a sincere sense of belonging, and identity. The relationships here are unique, and unparalleled.

As much as I personally love our campus, the forests, the gorgeous Muskoka lake we are on—the idyllic, calming solitude of it—what impresses me most is the people RLC attracts: educators who think differently; students who are looking for something more; families that want to share in the journey. The student body is composed of young people of all ages, interests, and backgrounds. Students come from throughout Canada and across the globe to challenge themselves in the classroom and on the playing fields; during outtrips and sailing on the lake.

The members of the RLC community make this a safe place, emotionally and physically, for all students. We say it together at the beginning of each Head’s lunch: “This is a place where friends become family.” It truly is.

I hope that you will come and visit our school to see firsthand why this is such an extraordinary place.

Sincerely,
Dave Krocker
