Grades 9-10

At Rosseau Lake College, we understand that the truly lasting learning is embedded in the lived experience.

In Grades 9 and 10, semester learning is mostly focused through the incredible geographical setting of RLC and our vibrant Outdoor Education Program. Learning is active and very often outside: in our woods, on our trails, in canoes, or on the ice. In Grade 9, Science and Geography are integrated with Outdoor Education. In Grade 10, Science and History are integrated with Outdoor Education. As well, you will be provided with 50 minutes of literacy (English) and numeracy (Math) instruction daily throughout both semesters. Furthermore, you will participate in a full afternoon of Visual Arts or Music weekly.

Post secondary counselling begins in Grade 9 with one-on-one meetings with our Guidance Counsellor. At Rosseau Lake College we believe it is important for you to begin planning your journey.

January and May Term

January and May Term give our Grades 9 and 10 students a choice in your learning experiences. Each of these terms is highly focused on one academic credit, and built around exciting experiences that could include exploring our woods and lake, the local area and community, the construction of something monumental, and exciting travel opportunities, including outtrips.
