Unique RLC Co-curriculars

Nestled in picturesque Muskoka, Rosseau Lake College is unlike any other school.

Nestled in picturesque Muskoka, Rosseau Lake College is unlike any other school.

With towering trees providing shade over forest trails, the shimmering lake’s shoreline running along the edge of campus, and over 50 acres of beautiful, rugged landscape, students are encouraged to explore and engage with our environment.

Our commitment to celebrating nature is carried over into the many co-curricular activities students can participate in, with a wide range of unique opportunities to learn skills they wouldn’t have the chance to try anywhere else.

With over 3000 feet of shoreline on Lake Rosseau, students can hit the water for rowing or fishing, gliding across the same water that has inspired Canadians for centuries. That includes our varsity rowing team who compete against other independent schools across the province. Plus, our paddle-making program gives students the rare chance to build the tools that propel students across the lake.

When the snow falls, the campus is converted into a winter wonderland. The highlight: a snowboard park right on campus. There’s nothing like whizzing by the dining hall while carving up fresh powder. If you prefer to cut through the snow a different way, students can explore the full range of campus with our nordic skiing program.

If exploration is what drives you, our geocaching program is the perfect fit, with plenty of opportunities to discover hidden treasures throughout the sprawling forests that surround campus.

Our arts programs are unlike any others you’ve seen at other schools. In the heart of Ontario’s most inspiring settings, famously captured by artists like the Group of Seven, we offer world-class media arts, visual arts and dramatic arts clubs. If your preference is playing an instrument, you can join our concert band or have fun building out compositions and creating new sounds with our jam band.

On the court, our basketball and volleyball teams represent RLC provincially as do our field hockey, soccer and rugby teams, who find success on the field. We take great pride in supporting our athletes and in supporting the importance of active living, healthy competition and good sportsmanship.

No matter your interest, we’re proud to offer something for everyone. And if our students would like to see something new, our Discovery Days provide the perfect opportunity to launch a new club and begin a new legacy here on our campus.
