RLC 50th Anniversary Celebration Invitation

Dear Rosseau Lake College Community,

With excitement, the Future Forward 50 Steering Committee would like to invite you to join us for Rosseau Lake College’s 50th Anniversary Celebration on our beautiful lakeside campus.

As a graduate of 1992, I had the privilege of attending the school’s 25th anniversary. It was a fantastic event, and I have never forgotten it.  Twenty-five years later, I am so pleased to be the Chair of a 50th Anniversary Steering Committee made up of alumni, parents, past staff and RLC board members.  We have organized an outstanding celebration, taking place on June 17, 2017, following Rosseau Lake College’s 50th Closing Day Celebration.

Students, parents, alumni, staff, supporters and community members are invited to join us for a day of reflection and celebrations under a beautiful lighted marquee in the centre of campus.

This semi-formal affair includes:

  • Freshly prepared hors d’oeurves during reception and gourmet plated sit down dinner catered by Crossroads Restaurant
  • Open bar with cocktails & dinner wine
  • Keynote speakers taking the stage, and the Class of 2017 receiving their alumni ties.
  • Live entertainment and music by Two for the Show
  • Complimentary shuttle buses between J.W Marriott The Rosseau in Minett & Rosseau Lake College
  • 50th  Anniversary Celebration cake prepared by the Rosseau Lake College kitchen

Sponsorship Opportunities are also available.  For more information on the Future Forward 50 Gala event or to purchase tickets online click here

50th Anniversary books, commemorating the history of the school can also be purchased through the brand new online RLC School Store.  To access the store click here

We are excited to see past headmasters, faculty members, board members, parents and the RLC alumni in June.  The event would obviously not be complete without the current parents, families and students of Rosseau Lake College. Together we can ensure the 50th celebration will be remembered for years to come.

I look forward to seeing you in June.

Stories from RLC

Community Outreach Committee

This week, Rosseau Lake College saw two students lead a presentation to the school community about their home country of Japan.  Atsushi Hamano and Makoto Okuma talked for over a half hour about Japanese heritage, culture, sports, food, language, and fashion.  It was tremendous to see two young students engaging their audience by giving genuine insight into the Japanese way of life.  We are so lucky to have students such as Atsushi and Makoto sharing their culture.  With a student population of under 100, we have 16 countries represented!  This is the first of many presentations to come supported by the Community Outreach Committee.  Well done everyone!  ありがとう

Co-curricular Report

Snowboarding Training at Mount St. Louis

They called it a snow day; we called it a snowboarding day. On January 11th the Snowboarding Club eagerly left campus and boarded the bus which was headed for Mount St-Louis. The beginners were excited and a little nervous to be strapping into their boards for the first time this season. The returning snowboarders were excited to hit the slopes and practice their skills from last winter. Once we arrived at the hill the beginners were escorted to Snow School where they were to be participating in a full day snowboard training session. The returning students quickly passed their hill safety test and got on the chair lifts.
Throughout the day students pointed their boards down the hill and learned how to stop, turn, go down a Rainbow Rail, and advance their skills. Coaches Ms. Bellissimo and Ms. Smith were always around pointing out new techniques, or to provide a few words of encouragement. By the end of the day, all of the students were happy to get on the bus and nap on the way back to the school. Our first races are on January 18th, and we couldn’t be more excited. Wish us luck!
