Head of School Welcome
In my opinion, the greatest thing about RLC is our people and the strong bonds that link each member of the community. For us, community is a core value for which there cannot be any compromise and so, with absolute integrity I can honestly say each student at RLC is known and cared for. Building positive relationships with students and securing their trust makes all the difference and to us, is fundamental to success.
RLC is located on 50 acres along 2,000 feet of Lake Rosseau shoreline in Muskoka. The campus is set in a pristine landscape that provides a distinct natural living and educational experience. Our rural environment sets us apart and augments the personalized programming we offer to students. Studying ecosystems of the lake, pond and forest takes on a whole new meaning when it is located in your backyard.
Building confidence and emphasizing hands-on experiences, our academic program is different. We recognize that we live in a rapidly changing world and feel strongly education should reflect the modern reality. Building on success of the past, we believe learning is not limited to a singular approach, but should reflect student interest and learning preference. By identifying student learning styles, and connecting learning with authentic, real-world tasks and challenges that place emphasis on sustainability, problem solving and entrepreneurial skills, we prepare students for post-secondary education and successful careers.
I invite you to browse our site to find out more and consider a visit to witness why RLC is different.

Our mission is to graduate students with a strong personal brand through a culture that is rich in discovery.
Teaching and Learning Statement
Teaching and learning at Rosseau Lake College occurs in a collaborative and diverse environment, where students actively develop their personal brand, through a culture of discovery.
After two years of research and planning through a process that involved students, parents and alumni, we are excited to share RLC’s new strategic direction. It is a plan that celebrates learning and motivates students to apply their knowledge and skills; it applies a methodology that will deepen student engagement and lead to quality learning experiences as they prepare for experiences beyond high school in the knowledge economy.
