The outdoors is a unique extension of the classroom experience and the Rosseau Lake College Fall Outtrips have been an integral part of the history of the school. The OE program emphasizes the integration of the school curriculum while making use of the natural environment of the local area.
In order to enhance the outtrip experience and to further integrate learning, outtrips will be oriented by grade, focus on different skills and environments at different times of the year, integrate grade specific subject matter and will be hosted by academic staff who will teach course material in the field. All trips will combine outdoor learning with outdoor recreation and focus on a variety of topics, including wildlife habitat, fresh water ecology, geology, natural history, and environmental literature.
Bonding, adventure, friendship, shared experiences, outdoor skills these are all keywords used by the students to describe their outtrip experiences.
