I live at RLC. Many of the teachers live at RLC. Many of the students live at RLC. We begin each year as a community and progress quickly to a "family."

Like most families, the adults at RLC provide you with the guidance and structure to keep you safe and well-fed. At the same time, they provide you with the support, encouragement and counsel to learn and grow intellectually and emotionally. Our biggest goal is to make you feel comfortable at "home" while challenging you to be the "best of self" in the class, on the field or in the community.

Your experience may well mirror that of the many alumni who contact us to tell us that their time at RLC changed their lives. The deep and respectful relationships they developed with their teachers and house parents, in combination with the strong friendships they developed in living with other students from around the world, gave them a foundation for the future that taught them the value of hard work, ethical choices and tolerance and appreciation of others. An excellent academic education, in combination with wonderful experiences in arts, athletics and outdoor adventures may be the program you experience, but great mentors and great friends will be the life you will experience.

You will find many adults and young people who are anxious to get to know you and anxious to blend their life experiences with yours. I have asserted with students that each day we write a page in our "book of life" and we need to be the authors of our own success and happiness. Living here at RLC, you will find a cast of characters, and an incredible setting, that I hope will make your story an epic novel with a very happy ending!
